Clinical pathology involves the laboratory evaluation of blood, fluids or body tissues in order to identify existing disease. Common laboratory tests include blood chemistries, complete blood counts, blood clotting times, urinalysis, faecal tests, biopsy examination, cultures and infectious disease testing.

Our hospital is fully equiped with a state-of-the-art inhouse IDEXX blood analyser, which means that you will receive results for most blood tests within 30 minutes (instead of 12 – 24 hours!). With this new machine our vets are able to diagnose potentially life threatening illnesses and treat them faster and more effectively, reutrning them to their normal happy selves sooner!

Histology (lumps, skin samples etc) will still be examined by an external laboratory and these results can take a minimum of 48 hrs to be returned to us.
